Privacy Policy

Relay is operated by Ventrax LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company. When this policy says "we," "us," or "Relay," it means Ventrax LLC. Our website is getrelay.us.

This policy covers what data we collect when you use Relay, how we use it, who we share it with, and what rights you have. It's written to be readable. If something isn't clear, email us at legal@getrelay.us.

We collect four categories of data:

Account information

When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, and (where applicable) your business name. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt and stored in our database. We never store plaintext passwords.

Store and carrier credentials

To connect your Shopify store, WooCommerce installation, or carrier accounts, you provide OAuth tokens or API keys. We store these credentials encrypted at rest using AES-256. We use them only to operate the shipping agent on your behalf.

Shipping data

Every shipment you process through Relay generates a record that includes the recipient name and address, package weight and dimensions, carrier selected, tracking number, label cost, and the agent's reasoning for its carrier choice. This data is yours. We use it to operate the service and to show you your own history and analytics.

Usage and analytics data

We collect standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps) and in-app event data (which features you use, errors you encounter). This helps us fix bugs and improve the product. We don't sell or share this data with ad networks.

We use your data to:

• Operate the Relay service and execute shipments on your behalf
• Fetch carrier rates and generate labels through our carrier integrations
• Send you transactional emails: label confirmations, shipment exceptions, invoices, and account alerts. We use Mailgun to deliver these. We don't send marketing email unless you opt in.
• Process billing through Stripe and maintain your account records
• Debug issues and improve the product
• Comply with applicable law, including carrier reporting requirements

We don't use your data to train AI models. We don't sell your data. We don't use your shipment records to benchmark or analyze your competitors.

Relay is built on several third-party services. Here's what each one sees:

Shippo

We send Shippo your shipment details (recipient address, weight, dimensions, declared value) to fetch carrier rates and generate labels. Shippo is subject to its own privacy policy.

Lob

If you use Relay's direct mail feature, we send Lob the recipient address and your mail content. Lob prints and delivers physical pieces on your behalf. See Lob's privacy policy.

Stripe

Stripe handles all payment processing. We don't store full card numbers. Stripe receives your billing information directly. See Stripe's privacy policy.

Anthropic

The Relay shipping agent is powered by Anthropic's Claude API. We send Anthropic shipment context (order details, carrier options) so the agent can make decisions. We don't send Anthropic personal information beyond what's needed for each shipment decision. See Anthropic's privacy policy.

Mailgun

Transactional emails (label confirmations, account alerts) are delivered via Mailgun. We pass your email address and the message content to Mailgun for delivery only.

We keep your data for as long as your account is active.

If you delete your account, we delete your account information, store credentials, and personal data within 30 days. Some data may persist in encrypted backups for up to 60 days after that before being purged.

Shipping records (tracking numbers, label costs, recipient addresses, carrier choices) are kept for 3 years after each shipment date. This is required for legal and carrier compliance purposes. You can request a copy of your shipping records at any time before deletion.

Usage logs and analytics data that can't be linked back to your account may be retained in aggregated form indefinitely.

You can, at any time:

• Access the data we hold about you by emailing legal@getrelay.us. We'll respond within 30 days.
• Correct inaccurate account information directly in your dashboard settings.
• Delete your account by emailing legal@getrelay.us. This triggers the 30-day deletion process described above.
• Export your shipping history by emailing legal@getrelay.us. We'll send your records directly.

If you're in the European Economic Area or California and have additional rights under GDPR or CCPA, contact us and we'll handle your request appropriately.

We use session cookies to keep you logged in and preference cookies to remember your dashboard settings. We don't use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.

Credentials are encrypted at rest with AES-256. All data in transit is encrypted via TLS 1.2 or higher. We run automated dependency scanning and follow responsible disclosure practices.

No system is perfectly secure. If you discover a security issue, please report it to legal@getrelay.us rather than disclosing it publicly.

We'll post any changes to this page and update the effective date at the top. If the changes are material, we'll notify you by email at least 14 days before they take effect.
